Create an Advanced SOP

Advanced SOPs give you more room to describe a process properly. You can add multiple images or video to each step, format your text exactly how you want, and use AI to sharpen the wording before you publish.

Lesson Detail

The Lesson

Step 1 – Open the SOP tab and start a new SOP

Go to the SOP tab and tap the plus button in the bottom right corner.

You’ll see three options. Select Advanced SOP.

Step 2 – Name your SOP

On the next screen, enter a title for your SOP.

You’ll notice some advanced options on this screen. These are covered later in the Academy – for now, move past them and tap Add First Step.

Step 3 – Add a photo or video to your first step

You’ll be given two options: camera or gallery.

  • Camera – take a photo of the process step right there
  • Gallery – pull an image from your device

You can also add a video of up to one minute.

Once the image is captured, you can zoom in or out as needed.

Step 4 – Annotate the image

After capturing your photo, you can annotate it directly in the app.

There are several annotation tools available and they’re all simple to use. Mark up what matters – arrows, highlights, call-outs – whatever helps the operator understand the step.

Each step in an Advanced SOP can hold up to three images or one video of up to one minute.

Step 5 – Describe the step

You have full text formatting and unlimited text to describe each step in as much detail as you need.

If you’re using voice to text, the AI can tidy up what you’ve said. It will give you a few suggested versions and you pick the one that fits best.

Step 6 – Add more steps

Tap Next Step and repeat the process for each step in the SOP.

Keep going until the SOP is complete.

Step 7 – Refine on desktop if needed

Once the initial SOP is built, you can switch to the desktop app to add further detail or polish.

Both work together – build it quickly on site, refine it at a desk.

Step 8 – Deploy the SOP

When the SOP is finished, you have a few options for how to share it:

  • Print the full SOP in one go
  • View step by step – the recommended way to deploy to operators on the floor
  • Deploy via QR code for instant access at the point of use
  • Share a direct link

When you’re in step-by-step view, you can choose which image or video to emphasize for each step – helpful when one visual makes the instruction clearer than another.

When to use Advanced SOPs

Advanced SOPs work best for processes that need visual detail – anything where a photo or short video makes the standard work easier to follow than text alone.
