INSTALLATION OF THIS PRODUCT REQUIRES WORKING NEAR MULTIPLE HEAT SHIELDS. USE CAUTION AS THE HEAT SHIELDS CAN BE EXTREMELY SHARP AND CAN CAUSE BODILY HARM.
Start by removing the factory skid. This is done by removing the three M8 bolts securing it to the vehicle. Two are located on the frame and one is located up above the driveshaft.
With the skid out of the way, loosely install the small bracket to the mount on the frame located towards the rear of the gas tank as shown. This can be done using one of the provided M8 bolts.
Loosely install the next bracket onto the crossmember located just behind the gas tank as shown. This can be done Using the other provided M8 bolt into a factory threaded hole in the cross member. Make sure the skid mounting flange is pointed towards the tank.
Take the final provided bracket and a factory bolt and loosely bolt it into the threaded hole locaed over the driveshaft in the orientation shown above.
With all three of the brackets in place, lift the skid up into place, as shown above. Ensure all mounts are inside of the skids flanges. Then, loosely install the remaining hardware. The two bolts in the frame circled in the image above mount the skid to the frame using the factory hardware. The three mounting brackets mount to the skid using the provided 1/2" hardware.
With all the hardware started, go around and fully tighten all bolts into the vehicle and skid to complete the install.
