Step by step on how to install the Engine Skid (with diff drop cross member) on the 100 Series Land Cruiser / Lexus LX470!

Included Parts: engine skid plate and diff drop cross member (with diff drop spacers).
Included Hardware: 046-0116 bolt pack.
Tools: 14mm socket, 3/4" socket, 5/16" and 3/16" hex bits, and a jack to support the differential.
Support the front differential from underneath. Remove the four cross member mounting bolts and the driver side diff mount bolt, then drop the factory cross member out.

Move the rear passenger side diff mount bolt to the front with the diff drop spacers on top. Then reinstall the rear using the supplied bolt, again with a spacer on top.

Slide the new cross member into place, line up the four mounting bolts and run the driver side diff mount bolt through the cross member. Start all hardware loosely.

Once all of the hardware is started, tighten the cross member bolts and all of the diff mounting bolts.

On the lower cross member just in front of the radiator, fish a 3/8" x 3" bolt with a washer up through each of the two large bottom holes and start it into a 3/8" flange nut on top. Leave them loose so the skid slots can slide over the washers.

With the bolts hanging, slide the front slots of the skid up over the washers and line up the outer mounting holes.

Start two of the provided 14mm bolts with washers on each side by hand. This supports the weight of the skid.

Drop a 1/2" serrated flange nut over the top of the cross member at each rear mounting hole, then push a 1/2" button head bolt up from below and start it. (If you are also installing the transmission skid, slide it in over the engine skid before installing this hardware.)

Once both rear bolts are started, tighten them with a 5/16" hex.

Tighten the outer 14mm bolts. On the two front 3/8" bolts, pull down on the washer as you spin the bolt up so the flange nut on top grabs the cross member, then snug them up tight to the skid.

Install the access door using the 5/16" button heads and serrated flange nuts, then tighten with a 3/16" hex.
