Included Parts:
Tools needed: Phillips screwdriver, 10mm, 14mm, 21mm, 22mm and 9/16" sockets, trim tool, and a hammer or mallet.
Included Hardware (046-0085):
(2) 3/8-16 clip nut, (4) M10-1.25 x 30mm bolt, (6) 3/8-16 x 1 hex cap screw, (6) 3/8 flat washer, (4) 3/8-16 flange nut, (4) M14-1.5 x 35mm bolt, (4) 9/16 flat washer
Open the hood. Remove the three Phillips screws on the top of the grill. On the inside of the grill at the bottom, there is a small push tab on each side. Press to release them, then remove the grill and set it aside.
Next, remove the factory plastic bumper. Start by removing the retaining clips along the top with a trim tool.
Remove the remaining bolts with a 10mm socket. There is one on each side going up through the bumper cover into the fender. Then remove the bolts on each tab along the underside of the bumper.
Remove the crash bar bolts with a 14mm socket. With the bolts removed, lift the crash bar up and off of the frame.
Be sure to unplug the fog lights, then remove the bumper cover.
Remove the front tow hooks using a 21mm socket.
Install a 3/8-16 clip nut in the hole on the top of the frame horn on each side using a hammer or mallet.
Now is the time to install any accessories in the bumper (winch, cube lights, perforated panel, etc.).
Set the bumper up on the frame and start a bolt down into one of the clip nuts you just installed to hold the bumper in place. Then start the remaining bolts loosely. There will be three bolts on each side.
With the bumper still loose, install the frame support brackets. There will be two bolts with washers into the frame, and two bolts with washers and flange nuts into the bumper. The bracket sits on top of the inside of the bumper. We recommend a little anti-seize on all of the hardware.
Fully tighten the support bracket bolts. The bumper side uses a 9/16" socket and the frame side uses a 22mm socket (65 ft-lbs).
Fully tighten the bumper mounting bolts using a 14mm socket. Torque the front frame bolts to 40 ft-lbs. Tighten the top clip-nut bolts snug using a 9/16" socket.
Wire up any lights installed in the bumper.
Confirm all hardware is tightened. Congrats! Your installation of the V100FS2 Strike Front Bumper is now complete. Enjoy!
