Step by step on how to install the Victory 4x4 Engine Skid Plate on a 2024+ Toyota Land Cruiser 250. The install video shows a 4th Gen Tacoma, but the Land Cruiser 250 install is very similar. Please read all steps carefully before starting the install. Tools needed: 12mm, 13mm and 17mm sockets, a 3/4" wrench and a 3/16" hex. A transmission jack or a helper makes lifting the skid easier.

Check that you have all of the parts and hardware shown before starting. Hardware: (6) M8 x 40mm hex head bolts, (6) 5/16" flat washers, (3) 1/2" carriage bolts and (3) 1/2" flange nuts to join the skid halves, and (2) 5/16" button head bolts with (2) serrated flange nuts for the oil filter access door. The factory tow hook bolts are reused.

Remove the factory tow hook bolts on both sides with a 17mm socket. Keep these bolts; they hold the front of the new skid.

Remove the 4 bolts holding the front factory skid with a 12mm socket. The front edge tabs into the crossmember, so rotate the skid and push it forward to remove it.

Remove the 4 bolts from the rear factory skid with a 12mm socket, then push the skid back to pull it off.

Remove the 3 bolts from the metal bracket with a 12mm socket. The bracket is tabbed in a few places, so wiggle it to work it free.

Set the front and rear skid halves together so the 3 holes line up. Install the (3) 1/2" carriage bolts from the bottom with the 1/2" flange nuts on top. Make sure the skid is square, then fully tighten with a 3/4" wrench.

Bolt the access door into the front cutout with the (2) 5/16" button head bolts from the bottom and the serrated flange nuts on top. Tighten with a 3/16" hex.

Lift the skid into place. Loosely thread M8 x 40mm bolts with 5/16" washers through the rear slotted holes into the factory threaded holes. Leave them loose for now.

Loosely install M8 bolts with 5/16" washers in the middle holes, lining up the slotted holes with the factory threaded holes.

Reinstall the factory tow hook bolts through the slotted holes at the front of the skid, with or without the tow hooks. Some models may need longer bolts.

Center the skid so the bolts sit evenly in the slots. Tighten the M8 bolts with a 13mm and the front tow hook bolts with a 17mm. Recheck all hardware after your first few drives.
